A Chinese epic film titled "Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon" held a press conference in Beijing on Tuesday, two days before it hits the public on April 3. The film's cast members, including director Daniel Lee, actor Andy Lau and actress Maggie Q, attended the press.

The film, which claims itself "one hero's epic", portrays the fighting life of a widely known Chinese hero, Zhao Yun, who lived during the Three Kingdoms period set in 220-265 A.D. And this story is based on the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", known as one of China's four major classical literary works. Some characters have been reformed to highlight the dramatic effects.

Cast members and the director of "Three Kingdoms" attend a press conference in the Beijing Marriott Hotel on Tuesday, April 1, 2008.

"Cao Ying, the heroine of the film, derives from the grandson of Cao Cao, the king of one of the three kingdoms. The grandson defeated Zhao Yun, the general who won battles all the time. We think if the one who beats Zhao Yun is a woman; the story will be more interesting." Daniel Lee, both the screenwriter and director of the film, is quoted as saying.

The public and media have paid great attention to "Three Kingdoms" since the shooting of its first scene, not only for its hot story, but also for its stars. Andy Lau and Maggie Q, the leading actor and actress of the film, said they had a happy collaboration in producing the film.

As an actress who once collaborated with Tom Cruise, Maggie Q appreciated Andy Lau as the "Asian Tom Cruise". She said Andy Lau's hard work was very impressive.

Andy Lau also appreciated Maggie Q's performance in the film. He said Maggie Q's performance made him feel encouraged.

Sixty percent of the netizens who participated in a survey launched by one of China's biggest film websites, baofeng.com, show that they would like to go see the film in the cinema.
