With the summer movie season set to begin with next week's release of comic book movie Iron Man, Hollywood is holding its breath, hoping for a big start to the lucrative moviegoing period.

DreamWork Animation's "Kung Fu Panda" continued strong business, with that kids comedy selling estimated 34.3 million dollars worth of tickets over the three-day period, and 118 million dollars in the past two weeks.

"The Happening," a Fox thriller that debuted this weekend, came in third with 30.5 million dollars in projected sales.

The Adam Sandler comedy "You Don't Mess With The Zohan" slipped two spots to fourth with 16.4 million dollars this weekend, while "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" remains steady with 13.5 million dollars. The Harrison Ford action sequel has taken in 275.3 million dollars since its release three weeks ago.

The top-selling 12 films in North America took in 174.3 million dollars collectively this weekend, up 25 percent over the same period of last year. With three straight weeks running well ahead of last year's comparable frames, Hollywood's current summer season is so far so good and is expected to push revenues even further ahead.
