Trade promotion organizations are important forces to push world economy and trade ahead, said Chinese President Jiang Zemin in a congratulating letter to the Fourth Conference of World Trade Promotion Organizations opened Thursday in Beijing.
"With the deepening of world economic globalization, trade promotion organizations of various countries and regions further strengthen exchanges and cooperation and play active roles in promoting the development of international economic and trade development, thus spurring the solution of problems existing in world economic development," Jiang said in the letter.
He expressed his hope that the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) enhances exchanges and cooperation with trade promotion organizations of various countries and regions so as to make common efforts to promote the prosperity of world economy.
Over 300 representatives from trade promotion organizations andcommerce chambers of 50-plus countries and regions attend the conference, which is jointly hosted by CCPIT and the United Nations International Trade Center.
Representatives will discuss the future trend of world trade, new challenges confronting trade promotion organizations in economic globalization as well as China's economy, trade promotionand the impact of China's accession to the World Trade Organization upon global trade systems.
