Chinese Vice Premier Wen Jiabao met with Sugisaki Shigemitsu, deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing Sunday.
Sugisaki Shigemitsu is in Beijing to attend the APEC Finance and Development Program (AFDP) 2002 Annual Forum held Sunday. He will make a speech at the meeting this afternoon.
Wen welcomed Sugisaki Shigemitsu to Beijing and exchanged views with him about China's economic growth and other issues of common interest.
Sugisaki Shigemitsu said the IMF is willing to expand cooperation with China in such areas as economic development and financial sector.
