China Developed Its Own "Core Subway Technology"

Experts highly praised the China-made subway frequency converter

China has developed its key subway technology, breaking Western monopoly on related technologies. February 28 saw the Beijing Science & Technology Committee held a meeting for appraising the "DN-1 Subway Power Frequency Converter", of which some 70 percent is made in China.

According to experts, this set of frequency converter is of many advantages as of low price, simple structure, long service, and easy maintenance in the way China will be helped not to buy any other suchlike foreign "core" products at extortionate prices.

The success forms the second leap in China's metro history

Subway frequency converter may be compared to a car's engine. Before this, foreign manufacturers had habitually kept their technology -- systemic management software strictly confidential, making China spend a lot of money on imports for its metro trains. Experts pointed out that the success in developing the frequency converter forms the second leap in China's metro history.
