Translation Program for Asian Classics
On May 15, 2019, Xi Jinping announced at the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations that China would be happy to launch initiatives with relevant countries to translate Asian classics both from and into Chinese and promote film and TV exchange and cooperation in Asia. The intention was to help people in Asia better understand and appreciate each other's cultures and build a platform for exchange and mutual learning that would empower the best of Asian civilizations to spread and become known to more people around the world.
The Translation Program for Asian Classics from and into Chinese became a major initiative and cooperation mechanism to promote mutual understanding and appreciation of Asian civilizations through translation works amongst 47 Asian countries. The Program's secretariat works out of Beijing Language and Culture University. As of October 2022, China had signed memoranda of understanding on translation and publication of classic works with Singapore, Pakistan, Republic of Korea, Iran, Laos, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Mongolia, contributing to the promotion and spread of the best of Asian civilization and fostering a community with a shared future for all Asians.
亞洲經(jīng)典著作互譯計劃
2019年5月15日, 習(xí)近平在亞洲文明對話大會上提出,中國愿同有關(guān)國家一道,實施亞洲經(jīng)典著作互譯計劃和亞洲影視交流合作計劃,幫助人們加深對彼此文化的理解和欣賞,為展示和傳播文明之美打造交流互鑒平臺。
亞洲經(jīng)典著作互譯計劃是以翻譯推動亞洲文明交流互鑒的重要倡議與合作機制,重點推進亞洲47國的文化互譯和文明互鑒,其秘書處設(shè)在北京語言大學(xué)。截至2022年10月,中國已與新加坡、巴基斯坦、韓國、伊朗、老撾、亞美尼亞、吉爾吉斯斯坦、阿塞拜疆、蒙古國等簽署了經(jīng)典著作互譯出版?zhèn)渫洠瑸檎故竞蛡鞑喼薷鲊拿髦?、共建亞洲命運共同體作出積極貢獻。
