Taiwan's "Taiwan independence" diehard Annette Lu ended her stealthy tour to Southeast Asia with thorough failure, says a Xinhua commentary Sunday.
This proves that anyone challenging the "one-China" principle and making trouble in international community is unwelcome and got nothing but sneers, the commentary says.
Having been refused her expected "visits" to some Southeast Asian countries, Lu arrived on the sneak at the Jakarta airport on August 14, tempting an access to the capital which was rejected by the Indonesian government.
Lu later applied to Australia for "medical treatment," which was denied too. Lu finally had to fly back to Taiwan in disappointment. "She runs into a brick wall wherever she goes," a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
The government of Indonesia has not in anyway arranged for the visit of Annette Lu to Indonesia.
The Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia said in a release, "Indonesia also consistently adheres to the 'one-China' policy and has long recognized Chinese Taiwan as an integral part of the People's Republic of China. As a consequence of this basic position, the government of the Republic of Indonesia does not have diplomatic relations or official contacts with Chinese Taipei."
Annette Lu's activities in Indonesia are an absolute farce, and her failure is certain considering international laws and Taiwan?s history and status quo.
Facts show that Lu is persona non grata and there is no way Taiwan independence can succeed.
Lu's farce happened after Chen Shui-bian's claim "one country on each side" remarks was widely criticized at home and in international community, indicating that separatist force continues attempting to make troubles.
The commentary concludes that Lu's experience showed that no matter what separatists do, they are doomed to failure.
