One more victim of last week's light plane crash in southern Tanzania has died in hospital, bringing to three the toll of the incident, local press reported on Sunday.

 

English newspaper Sunday News quoted hospital sources as identifying the third victim of the ill-fated light plane, that had six people on board when it went down shortly after taking off on Dec. 16, as George Julius Bendera.

 

The deceased worked in the disaster relief unit under the Tanzanian prime minister's office.

 

The crash claimed the life of Theresia Nyantori, a photojournalist, on the spot while Nathaniel Katimila, who was the chief crop marketing coordinator in the prime minister's office, died a day later in hospital.

 

All the people on board the crashed plane are Tanzanians.

 

The other victims who are still hospitalized in Dar es Salaam include Juma Akukwete, minister of state in the prime minister's office in charge of parliamentary affairs, and the pilot, Martin Sumari.

 

The light plane, a Cesna 310R twin engine six-seater, was chartered by the prime minister's office from Tanzania for an inspection tour of the southern city of Mbeya.
