Taiwan Storyland, a famous place to experience Taiwan's "old days", has reopened on Thursday.

 

Storyland, opposite the Taipei rail station, started business in November, 2005 and soon began grabbing a lot of attention.

 

Situated in a basement all recreated streets and alleys here are scenes and architecture from Taiwan between the 1950s through the 1970s. Shop signs and displays are all genuine antiques, sure to help make visits a nostalgia-filled experience.

 

There is a movie theatre showing early Taiwan films, complete with old-style, hard wooden fold-up chairs. There is also a Taiwan Story Land Exhibition Hall, displaying historical artefacts from around Taiwan, dating from the Qing dynasty to modern times. Old-style snack stalls and a themed restaurant provides a variety of cuisine.

 

Due to economic problems, Taiwan Storyland closed in May this year. But soon local businessmen offered money to reopen it.
