An earthquake of magnitude 6. 3 occurred off the Aleutian Islands of the U.S. state of Alaska on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
The quake struck the Fox Islands region at 12:21 p.m. local time and was located at a depth of about 13.7 kilometers, according to information posted on the website of the USGS.
It was centered some 120 kilometers from Nikolski of Alaska, the USGS said.
"No reports of this event being felt or causing damage have been received at this time," the Alaska Earthquake Information Center said in a separate statement.
The quake followed a magnitude-6.2 tremor that hit the Fox Islands region on Monday night with no reported damage or injuries.
