World Wide Fund for Nature Malaysia (WWF Malaysia) Tuesday urged all Malaysians to join Earth Hour 2010 to voice their concern about climate change.
WWF Malaysia, part of the WWF network worldwide, urged the public in the country to sign up and switch off their non- essential lights from 8:30pm to 9:30pm during Earth Hour on March 27.
Climate change is a threat not only to humans but wildlife and nature as well, it said on its website.
"Even turtles, one of Malaysia's most endangered species, will be badly affected by climate change," it added.
WWF Malaysia, found in January 1972, initiated a similar campaign in Malaysia last year.
Several iconic landmarks in the country such as Kuala Lumpur Tower join hands to observe Earth Hour on March 28, 2009.
