A series of moderate aftershocks hit westernmost Indonesia's Aceh province following a 7.2- magnitude earthquake on Wednesday, the Meteorology and Geophysics said in a statement.
Five aftershocks with magnitudes ranged from 5.0 to 5.2 on the Richter scale occurred after the major earthquake rocked the province at 5:15 Jakarta time Wednesday. At least six people were injured by the earthquake in Aceh province.
The latest aftershock occurred at 06:35 Jakarta time with a magnitude of 5.1 on Richter scale, with the epicenter at 71 kilometers southwest of the province's Sinabang regency and at a depth of 28 kilometers under seabed.
The agency did not issue a tsunami warning.
