Earth Day 2011 is supporting the UN International Year of Forests 2011.

Earth Day 2010 is a pivotal opportunity for individuals, corporations and governments to join together and create a global?green economy.?Last year, more than 200 campaigns had registered at Earth Day Network, and have involved in about 760, 000 people.

 

Even though emissions have grown rapidly since 1990, China has managed to significantly reduce its emissions intensity (emissions per unit of GDP). In 2009, China announced plans to reduce the intensity of carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP in 2020 by 40 to 45 percent compared with the level of 2005.
