A strong earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted off eastern Indonesia of Maluku province at 00:31 a.m. local time on Thursday (1531 GMT on Wednesday), the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said here.
The earthquake was centered at 194 kilometers northeast of Saumlaki city and at depth of 156 kilometers under seabed.
The agency did not release a tsunami warning.
