The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Tuesday welcomed Sweden's support in developing green technology in the region.
Secretary General of ASEAN Surin Pitsuwan said that with Sweden's support, ASEAN will include green technology in its Master Plan for ASEAN Connectivity.
"The region has been planning for ASEAN Connectivity Master Plan, in which it wants to build a lot of infrastructures. With Sweden's support, all those infrastructures will have element of green technology," said Surin in a joint press conference with Sweden Trade Minister Ewa Bjorling.
He said that Sweden is not only of having expertise on green technology but also has commitment to promote protection and preservation of environment worldwide.
"So, it is important that economic relation with green growth, green technology and environment protection, to be taken seriously, " said Surin.
