More and more Swedish enterprises are using information technologies, such as systems that automatically regulate lighting, heating and ventilation, to save energy, the Statistics Sweden said in a statement on Wednesday.
"In January 2011, 20 percent of Swedish enterprises used IT solutions as tools to reduce energy consumption, compared with 15 percent in January 2010," the statement said.
"The tendency to use these types of solutions increases with the size of the enterprises," it added
Among enterprises with 250 employees and above, half of these enterprises use IT solutions as tools to reduce energy consumption, as opposed to 14 percent among enterprises with only 10 to 49 employees.
Meanwhile, 72 percent of enterprises had mobile connections to the internet, compared with 60 percent a year ago.
