New Zealand's Triangle and Stratos Television have secured the rights to screen full live coverage of China's National Day parade in Beijing which falls on Oct. 1.
The grand military parade on Chang'an Avenue in front of the Tian'anmen Square will mark the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Jim Blackman, chief executive of Triangle Television and Stratos Television, said on Sunday that the screening was in keeping with the channel's reputation for delivering New Zealanders significant international events they would not see on other New Zealand channels.
"We are thrilled and proud that our efforts to bring a different window on the world to New Zealanders is being recognized by broadcasters around the world and I hope that not only residents from China, but also other New Zealanders will take a look at China' 60th National Day celebrations," Blackman said.
Triangle and Stratos Television will also broadcast China's Mid-Autumn Festival Concert on Oct. 4.
The Mid Autumn Festival is the traditional Chinese festival of family reunions marked by eating moon cakes.
