Nepal's single largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA), the Unified Communist Party of Nepal Maoist (UCPN-M) on Wednesday congratulated the Chinese government and people on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
In an email sent to Xinhua by Krishna Bahadur Mahara, the In-charge of the International Department of UCPN-M, Mahara, on behalf of his party, said, "salute and congratulate with heartily to the great peoples of china, glorious Communist Party of China ( CPC) and all leaders on the occasion of 60th anniversary of founding of the People's Republic of China."
"Oct. 1, 1949, the day of announcing and founding of the People's Republic of China is a day of historical and glorious victory of peoples of China and peoples of all over the world. Oct. 1 is a great leap forward and a big milestone in the history of China, to turn old and dark China into new and bright China by heroic revolution of peoples of China under the leadership of the Communist Party of China fighting against all exploitation of the feudal regime and domination of imperial powers," Mahara said in the congratulation letter, "Chinese revolution even now is inspiring for all the revolutionary movement of the world."
"In fact, founding of the People's Republic of China and farsighted visionary and sagacity leaderships in politics, economy and diplomacy of CPC is only the reason to becoming emergent and modern new China," said the UCPN-M leader, "In this auspicious moment, let us strengthen our comradely relationship between two parties for piece, progress and prosperous world."
The UCPN-M signed the Comprehensive Peace Accord with the then Seven-Party Alliance government in November, 2006, ending the decade civil war since February, 1996. In the CA elections held in April, 2008, the UCPN-M emerged as the single largest party in the house.
