Hundreds of overseas reporters gathered Thursday morning at Tian'anmen Square to cover the well-prepared celebrations marking the 60th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
Alongside the Chang'an Avenue, reporters had their cameras erected and many were busy interviewing participants to the event.
More than 4,500 journalists in and outside the Chinese mainland registered to cover the event, according to the organizing committee .
More than 1,300 journalists were from more than 300 news organizations of more than 100 foreign countries.
China's major national radios, TV channels and Web sites will live broadcast the grandiose celebration.
Xinhua News Agency will cover the celebration in seven languages of Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese, both via its wire services and Web news portal.
