About 100,000 people will participate in a mass civilian pageant to showcase the panoramic progresses the People's Republic of China has made since its founding in 1949.
The pageant, to follow a grand military parade, will carry the theme of "I advance along with the motherland" and involve 60 floats in three parts, namely the chapters of "thoughts," "achievements" and "future."
In about an hour, paraders from all walks of life and the floats will march in 36 phalanxes in seven themed sessions along Chang'an Avenue to exhibit the country's development over the past six decades.
The mass pageant, which also involves six group dancing performances and transforming slogans and patterns to be spelled out by children holding colorful props as backdrop, will help recall the history and accomplishment of the People's Republic of China.
Paraders and performers have practised for about three months in an effort to present a grand pageant showing joy, confidence, pride and creative competence of the Chinese people and foreign friends who have contributed to China's achievements in all sectors.
Sixty huge lanterns, 56 columns representing China's 56 ethnic groups, and slogans and huge LED screens on Tian'anmen Square will jointly highlight the festive atmosphere.
