Vietnamese PM Meets Chinese Minister of Communications
Adjust font size:

The Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese government always attach importance to strengthening and developing the friendly neighborhood and comprehensive cooperation with China, hoping that the two sides will jointly strive to substantially boost the win-win cooperation in all fields, especially in transport under the framework of "two economic corridors and one belt."

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the remarks while meeting with visiting Chinese Minister of Communications Li Shenglin on Tuesday.

Dung said over the past few years, the Vietnam-China friendly and cooperative relations have been ceaselessly reinforced and developed, especially their trade and economic ties being unceasingly deepened.

The prime minister stated that after 20 years of conducting renovation and opening-up policies, Vietnam has seen continuous and rapid economic growth, but it still needs to draw on China's successful experiences in many fields, especially the development of transport infrastructure.

Dung said he hoped the transport sectors of the two countries will beef up bilateral cooperation, further learn from each other, and facilitate transport cooperation projects under the framework of the "two economic corridors and one belt."

The Chinese minister said the two sides in the last few years have maintained their close cooperation and mutual support. Cooperation exists not only in construction of transport infrastructure but also in transport facilitation, maritime safety and sea rescue.

Li said that the Chinese government treasures the cooperation on the "two economic corridors and one belt," considering it a bridge to step up trade and economic ties between the two countries. He said he believed that through the two sides' unremitting efforts, they will turn the "two economic corridors and one belt" into an opening-up international economic corridor for the common prosperity of the two countries.

On Tuesday evening, the Chinese minister and his Vietnamese counterpart Ho Nghia Dung signed a memorandum of understanding on technical cooperation on the "two economic corridors and one belt."

Li arrived in Vietnam on April 1 for a four-day visit to the country, at the invitation of the Vietnamese Transport Minister Ho Nghia Dung.
