More countries offer condolences to China over earthquake

Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade offered his sincere condolences, prayed for the dead and wished the injured a quick recovery.

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika expressed deep grief over those killed and offered condolences to their families.

Beninese President Boni Yayi offered his sincere condolences to the Chinese people, and deep sympathy and support for the families of those killed. He wished the injured a quick recovery and the quake-hit area a quick return to normalcy.

Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa, Vice President Rupiah Banda and Foreign Minister Kabinga Pande extended sincere condolences and expressed their belief that the Chinese people will overcome their difficulties and rebuild their homes.

Guinean Prime Minister Lansana Kouyate offered heartfelt condolences to the Chinese government and people, along with the belief that China will overcome all difficulties. Guinea will always stand by China, he said.

Roosevelt Skerrit, prime minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, said the Chinese government reacted promptly to the earthquake and acted with courage, confidence and efficiency in its rescue efforts.

Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo expressed deep sorrow over the loss of human life and property, and extended his sincere sympathies to the families of the victims. He said he believes the Chinese government and people will successfully overcome the difficulties.

The Palestinian representative office in the Arab League expressed condolences and the belief that the Chinese government and people will win the battle against adversity.
