Overseas Chinese communities condemn sabotage activities in Tibet
Adjust font size:

More Chinese communities in foreign countries have condemned the sabotage activities in Tibet incited by the Dalai Lama clique and the recent assaults on Chinese embassies and consulates by "Tibet independence" forces.

In a joint statement the British Chinese Youth Federation and all its affiliated chapters strongly denounced those who instigated and engineered the recent violence in Tibet. The violence had disrupted the normal social order in Tibet, causing great losses to local people, said the statement.

These organized, premeditated and carefully-orchestrated violent activities have revealed Dalai's allegation that he will not seek independence and only resort to peaceful dialogues is nothing but sheer lies.

In their statement, some ethnic Chinese groups in Italy condemned the sabotage activities in Lhasa, capital city of China's Tibet Autonomous Region, saying the violence endangered people's lives and undermined social stability in Tibet.

They reiterated their firm support for China's efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

On Wednesday, the Association of Wenzhou Townsmen in Spain said in an appeal that all Chinese both at home and abroad should go into action for a battle against separatist forces.

"We are indignant for the separatist attempt by the Dalai Lama clique. We will by no means tolerate any such moves or attempt and we firmly support all the necessary measures taken by the Chinese government to safeguard national integrity," Pan Yong, chairman of the association, said.

Chen Xiuyu, president of Chinese Women's League in Spain, said the riots in Lhasa were premeditated by a handful of separatists and the Chinese government is full capable of maintaining social stability, protecting the well-being of its people and hosting a successful Olympics.

Ye Yulan, chairwoman of the Chinese Society in Spain, said China now is at its best ever period, the Chinese communities in Spain categorically reject any move to undermine China's social stability and split the Chinese nation. The Tibet separatist movement is doomed to failure, she said.

The Chinese Association in Kenya on Friday condemned the riots in Lhasa, saying that the activities masterminded by Dalai had once again laid bare the separatist nature of Dalai and his clique and showed their long-touted slogan of "peace and non-violence" is false and hypocritical.

History will prove that whoever tries to split the nation and undermine national unity would come to no good end, said the association.

Peru's biggest Chinese group, Chinese Tong Huy Chong Koc Society said on Friday that some separatists staged the riots in Lhasa in the vain attempt to put pressure on the Chinese government, obstruct the Beijing Olympics, and undermine China's social stability and harmony.

All justice-upholding countries and peace-loving people would understand and support the Chinese government's actions to maintain the social stability and rule of law, and protect the fundamental interests of the Chinese people, the group said.
