Obama can better handle economy
Adjust font size:

Obama has vowed to cut taxes for 95 percent of the country's workers should he be elected, while suspending President George W. Bush's current tax cut on the richest Americans whose annual incomes are above 250,000 US dollars and account for 5 percent of the country's total population.

More Americans believed that presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama can better handle economic issue, the current top concern to American voters, according to a poll released on Thursday.

On the other hand, McCain insisted on the need to continue with Bush administration's tax cut policies and also called for oil tax holiday this summer in view of rising oil price in the international market.

However, the Thursday poll offers a positive news to McCain, saying that 54 percent of voters believe he is best suited to handle foreign policy issues, compared to 43 percent nodding on Obama.
