第14屆國(guó)際游泳聯(lián)合會(huì)世界錦標(biāo)賽于2011年7月16日在上海舉行。這一為期16天的活動(dòng)吸引了來(lái)自全世界180個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)的約1500名運(yùn)動(dòng)員、裁判員,官員、以及5000多名記者。
The 14th International Swimming Federation (FINA) World Championship is held in Shanghai on July 16, 2011. The 16-day event attracts more than 5,000 athletes, referees, officials, and 1,500 journalists from 180 countries in the world.
國(guó)際泳聯(lián)世界錦標(biāo)賽開(kāi)始于1973年,每?jī)赡昱e辦一次。它共包括五大項(xiàng)目,即游泳、跳水、花樣游泳、水球和公開(kāi)水域游泳。國(guó)際泳聯(lián)成員國(guó)目前已經(jīng)達(dá)到180個(gè),數(shù)量?jī)H次于國(guó)際足球協(xié)會(huì)聯(lián)合會(huì)(國(guó)際足聯(lián))。
The FINA World Championships started in 1973 and is held every two years. It includes five major events of swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, water polo, and open water swimming. Currently, the number of FINA members has reached 180, second to that of the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).
上海于2007年3月24日贏得了第14屆國(guó)際泳聯(lián)世界錦標(biāo)賽申辦權(quán),這是國(guó)際泳聯(lián)世界錦標(biāo)賽首度落戶(hù)中國(guó),是繼2001年日本福岡之后,在亞洲第二次舉辦這一大賽。
Shanghai won the bid to host the 14th FINA World Championships on March 24, 2007. This is the first time that the FINA World Championships is held in China and the second time in an Asian country, following Fukuoka of Japan who hosted the competition in 2001.
第14屆國(guó)際泳聯(lián)世界錦標(biāo)賽也是上海迄今承辦的規(guī)模最大、規(guī)格最高、參賽人數(shù)最多的世界單項(xiàng)體育大賽。比賽主會(huì)場(chǎng)于4月17日通過(guò)建筑驗(yàn)收。東方體育中心是一個(gè)綜合性體育場(chǎng),包括一座主會(huì)館、游泳池、室外跳水池和一個(gè)媒體中心。
The 14th FINA World Championship is the largest sport event ever undertaken by Shanghai in terms of the scale and the number of participants. The main stadium for the competition passed post-construction tests on April 17. The Oriental Sports Center is a comprehensive stadium including a main gymnasium, swimming pool, an outdoor diving pool and a media center.
