An Associated Press-GfK poll released Monday on Japanese citizens' views of other countries, security and the country's imperial family showed that nearly three quarters of respondents viewed China as a threat to world peace and about as many have a negative impression of the country, AP reported.
The survey suggested Japanese are overwhelmingly negative or neutral toward their immediate neighbors in Asia: China, Russia and North Korea. Opinions about South Korea are mixed.
About half of respondents, in contrast, are positive about the U.S. and Germany. Support for American military bases in Japan has grown to 57 percent, while 34 percent want them withdrawn.
And while they gave their own elected leaders low marks, most Japanese think highly of the emperor and military. (點擊雅虎新聞網(wǎng)站查看原文)
