Movie fans these days aren't just interested in blockbusters, as mico movies on-line are proving bigger and bigger hits. What's more, sometimes these low budget flicks can do just as well as movies with millions of Yuan behind them.
This new trend is proving a golden opportunity for many of Jiangsu province's campus students who are keen to focus their films on a core idea and a handful of actors, sometimes even shooting them on cellphones.
"Go Back Home", is a spring festival travel story shot by students form Suzhou city in Jiangsu province. Without any special effects, the less-than-5-minute-film gained a big following on the internet, especially among college students and migrant workers who can relate to the arduous travel rush of Chinese New Year.
Suzhou students also produced the short films: "Scarf" and "You Are the Apple of My Eye".
One student directer explains what attracted her to micro movies.

According to one student actress, the hectic pace of modern life means many people who don't have time for a 2 hour feature are beginning to prefer 5 minute micro movies.

Most of the student's films are related to campus life. Though their production skills are limited, they are still enthusiastic about fulfilling their dreams of becoming director or actresses on the open stage of micro movies.
