Police officer, architect and tax collector ranked the top most desirable jobs among last year's graduates in China, according to a report published on Monday, Xinhua reported.
It noted that all three jobs received affirmative ratings of 78 percent, making them the most popular among regular college graduates.
"Technician in the petroleum industry" brought the highest degree of satisfaction to graduates of a higher vocational training, according to the Mycos report, a Beijing-based research company focusing on education.
Meanwhile, the most unsatisfying positions for the two groups were hotel receptionist and machine operator, respectively, the report revealed.
Based on a survey of over 460,000 graduates from 2,093 schools across the Chinese mainland, the report stated that the employment rate among the country's 2011 graduates was 90.2 percent, 0.6 percentage point higher than that of 2010.
Official figures showed that about 6.6 million college students graduated in China last year, and this number is expected to exceed 7 million by 2015.
