The third World Internet Conference is held in Wuzhen, east China's Zhejiang Province on November 16 to 18. The town has been dubbed the land of rivers and lakes that has attracted global attention again.
Although Chinese President Xi Jinping was unable to attend in person, he delivered a speech via video, calling for closer international cooperation in cyberspace governance and extending congratulations to the opening of the conference on Wednesday. His speech received warm applause from participants.
Xi pledged to deepen international cooperation on cyberspace, and jointly build a cyberspace community of common destiny, which has aroused strong support from participants.
Nowadays anyplace on earth has access to the Internet that allow us to get access to human civilization.
Globalization, a characteristic of the Internet, makes the international community transform into a community of common destiny with each having something for the other. To make the network more beautiful, secure, and cleaner has become a common responsibility for the international community.
Xi told the conference, for the sake of common benefits of human beings, Beijing is willing to work with the international community, adhere to the concept of network sovereignty, promote global cyberspace governance to progress towards a more just and reasonable direction, promote the target of building cyberspace with more equal rights in innovative developing an open, shared, safe and orderly network.
The international community would work together to promote inter-operability, co-sharing and co-governance of cyberspace. The Internet is like a lifeboat that leads human beings to a far and better place with stable steps.
