For the Brazilian men's national soccer team's upcoming friendly games against England and Oman, Dunga announced on Monday that Fabio Simplicio will replace Ramires. The midfielder was called in due to Ramires' muscle injury.
"After the birth of my son, today's news was a great surprise. I have to take full advantage of this opportunity. Being a member of the national team is a huge achievement in most players' career. I am still a little shocked. This is my first invitation to play for the national team," rejoiced Simplicio.
Brazil will face England in Doha on November 14, followed by Oman in the team's capital city, Muscat on November 17. The friendlies will be Brazil's last games of the calendar year.
Apart from Simplicio's invitation for his first time on the Brazilian national team, Michel Bastos, Carlos Eduardo and Hulk will also be a part of the national team for their first time.
Dunga hopes to use the last two games of the year to help define his roster of players to travel to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup.
