Australian golfer Adam Scott was close to securing his seventh win on the U.S. PGA Tour, and his first in almost two years, Australian Associated Press reported on Monday.
Scott is the clubhouse leader late in the Texas Open in San Antonio after shooting a final round of five-under-par 67 to finish at 14-under 274.
He was one shot clear of Fredrik Jacobsen of Sweden who has just finished his round.
Several players were still out on the course but they would have to produce something special to catch Scott.
Australia's Aaron Baddeley was outright third after a final round 68 to be at 12 under.
Adam Derek Scott is an Australian professional golfer. On January 7, 2007, he reached a career high Official World Golf Ranking of third with a second place finish at the Mercedes-Benz Championship.
