Feng Zhe, China's gymnastics world champion, snatched gold in men's all-around on Thursday at the China's National Gymnastics Championship in Xiantao, a city in central China's Hubei province.
Feng, representing team of his home province Sichuan, battled Olympic champions Chen Yibing and Teng Haibing on Thursday night, both of whom failed to bring home medals due to fatal mistakes.
"It's the first time I've ever won in an all-around competition, because I made full preparations for this championship and work really hard," the gold medalist told Xinhua.
The four-day event in Xiantao city, known as "cradle of gymnastic champions", attract more than 200 gymnasts from 22 teams.
