German record champion and defending champion Bayern Munich turned the match around against Bremen after a 1-0 deficit thanks to Bastian Schweinsteiger at the second round of the German Cup on Tuesday.
Spaniard Jose Manuel Jurado scored the winner for Schalke against second division team FSV Frankfurt while Wolfsburg defeated fourth division team Victoria Hamburg.
Bremen caught Bayern on the hop with only two minutes into the match. Bremen staged their first attack when youngster striker Marko Arnautovic crossed from the left side to see striker Claudio Pizzaro who deflected the ball from his knee into the near post to astonish the "Bavarians".
From now on, Bremen retracted with the neat 1-0 lead behind whereas Bayern took over control.
At the 27th minute, Bayern levelled the score after confusion inside Bremen's penalty area. Midfielder Schweinsteiger utilized the confusion to score a poacher goal from very close range.
With 15 minutes into second half, referee Michael Weiner denied Bremen a goal preceded was a foul inside penalty area. However, Bremen had several scoring opportunities, but youngster striker Arnautovic wasted chance after chance.
Schweinsteiger revenged the inaccuracy by Bremen when his hammer from 30 meters turned the match. After the deficit, Bremen pressed frantically for the equalizer, without avail.
Schalke staged a poor performance against second division team FSV Frankfurt but midfielder Jose Manuel Jurado scored the early winner at the 12th minute to kick out Frankfurt from the German Cup.
Earlier that day, Wolfsburg defeated fourth division team Victoria Hamburg 3-1 and Cologne sweeped 1860 Munich 3-0 to advance into the round of Last 16 of the German Cup.
