A senior Chinese official has urged authorities to learn from the just-concluded Guangzhou Asian Games in order to prepare for hosting the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Para Games, assuring that they will be "equally brilliant".
"Various departments should prepare everything well to ensure convenient, safe and warm services for disabled athletes," said Liu Yandong, a State Councillor, during her inspection from Saturday (November 27) to Sunday in Guangzhou, the host city of the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games and the following Guangzhou 2010 Asian Para Games.
"United, peaceful, civilised and exciting, the Games was a sports and cultural pageant," Liu said, acknowledging efforts of China's local governments and the "vigorous" support from friends of other Asian countries and international communities.
The largest ever Asian Games concluded with a festive ceremony on Saturday night.
