Italian midfielder Gennaro Gattuso on Saturday announced he will retire from the national team after the World Cup.
With two days before the world champions' opener against Paraguay in Cape Town, the combative AC Milan star said it was time to call it a day, adding that he will try to become a coach.
Gattuso, 32, is coming off a difficult season at AC Milan when he struggled with a knee injury.
