Guo Yue lost the quarterfinal on Wednesday in the 2011 World Championships trial event staged in Zhucheng, Shandong province, which made her harder to attend the champions.
Guo played well in the group games and qualified as group's No. 1, but the good form did not last long.
In the quarterfinal against Mu Zi, Guo lost in straight sets 9-11, 3-11, 4-11 and 6-11.
Guo was once regarded as the best table tennis women player of China after Zhang Yining. But she had been in depression since the Moscow World Championships.
"I have to make changes, especially in psychology" , said Guo after the match.
However, Guo still has chance to attend the World Championships. "The coach team will choose the other quotas by judging the players' performance from last year till now, and Guo is obviously better than others," said Shi Zhihao, chief coach of Chinese women's table tennis team.
