The host Dallas Mavericks moved to the brink of their first NBA championship by defeating the Miami Heat 112-103 yesterday to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven finals series.
Dallas can take the title by winning either of the next two games in Miami, on Sunday or Tuesday if a seventh and deciding game is needed.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points for the Mavericks, while Dwyane Wade totaled 23 for the Heat and Chris Bosh added 19.
The Mavericks went on a 16-4 run to close out the game, aided by two three-pointers from Jason Terry and another by Jason Kidd.
