The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed reserve center Nazr Mohammed to a contract extension that allows the 13-year veteran to avoid free agency, the NBA team said yesterday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Mohammed, 33, was acquired from the Charlotte Bobcats during the season and averaged 6.9 points and 4.8 rebounds while playing mostly as a backup to Kendrick Perkins.
"He is a valuable part of our organization both on and off the floor," Thunder General Manager Sam Presti said in a statement. "His professionalism, experience, and on-court play have had a positive impact on our young and evolving roster."
