The Chinese men's chess team have shocked Argentina with a 3-1
victory at the Chess Olympiad, ending its winless streak over the
past three days.
Following the victory, the Chinese men's team moved up nine
places to number 14 in the standings.
Undefeated Armenia holds the top rank after stunning the
Netherlands 3-1.
In women's competition, the Chinese team were held to a 1.5-1.5
draw with Bulgaria.
China is now eighth in the women's standings with 14 points.
Russia, with a 3-0 triumph over Slovakia, leads the rankings with
17.5 points.
The Chinese men will next meet the Philippines in the eighth
round, while the women's team take on Latvia.
