Chinese table tennis players on Sunday got a big victory at the
four-day Volkswagen Open Singapore, which ended at the Toa Payoh
Sports Hall in Singapore.
In the men's singles final, China's Ma Lin prevailed against
Chinese Taipei player Chuan Chih-Yuan by beating the latter 6-11,
11-13, 11-2, 11-9, 12-14, 11-9, 11-5.
In the men's doubles final, Ma Lin and Chen Qi defeated their
Chinese colleagues Ma Long and Wang Liqin 11-8, 7-11, 7-11, 12-10,
11-8, 11-6.
In the women's singles final, China's 25-year-old Zhang Yining
beat her national teammate Wang Nan 11-8, 11-8, 11-8, 5-11, 8-11,
11-9.
In addition, Zhang Yining and her doubles partner Wang Nan
defeated China's Hong Kong players Tie Yana and Zhang Rui in
straight games to capture the title. They beat Tie Yana and Zhang
Rui 11-1, 11-7, 11-9, 11-8.
Under 21 men's and under 21 women's singles finals, Chinese
Taipei player Wu Chih-Chi and Singapore's Yu Meng Yu won the titles
respectively at the Volkswagen Open Singapore on Saturday.
