China shut down P2P Web sites
As of early December, China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television has closed more than 530 BitTorrent (BT) Web sites, including the major download search engine BTChina.net, on the grounds of intellectual property right infringement and purifying the online environment. Many in the Chinese Internet community became upset for fear of losing free sources of movies, TV dramas, music and computer programs. Other Internet users expressed understanding and stated that China should deal with the fast-growing piracy scene, which hampers the development of its own entertainment industry.
