Situated in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Miyaluo is the largest and most spectacular maple scenic area in China. Covering about 3,690 square kilometers, the area is decorated with maples, birch trees, snow-capped mountains, hot springs and waterfalls. When autumn comes, Miyaluo is transformed into a fairyland with eye-catching red leaves, tranquil blue skies, white clouds, quiet valleys and gurgling creeks. Besides enjoying the abundant natural beauty, travelers can also visit local residents to experience the unique culture of the Tibetan and Qiang ethnic minorities.

Best time to visit: late October to November
Getting there: Take a long-distance bus from Chengdu to Miyaluo. The journey costs 40 yuan and takes three hours.
