Walter Isaacson, born in 1952, is a U.S. writer and biographer. He once served as chairman and CEO of CNN and the editor of Time magazine, and is now president and CEO of the Aspen Institute, a nonpartisan institute on educational and policy studies headquartered in Washington, D.C.
Isaacson is the writer of "Steve Jobs," "American Sketches," "Einstein: His Life and Universe," "Benjamin Franklin: An American Life," and "Kissinger: A Biography," and co-author of "The Wise Men: Six Friends and the World They Made." His "Steve Jobs," an authorized biography of the co-founder of the U.S. computer giant Apple, became an instant bestselling book worldwide upon its publication on Oct. 24, 2011, less than three weeks after the IT magician's death.
