Ba'nan District, Chongqing Municipality 重慶巴南
Ba'nan is the largest district of Chongqing Municipality, and it boasts the richest geothermal resources of all. The best known hot spring areas of Ba'nan include South Hot Springs by the Huaxi River in Nanquan Town, East Hot Springs by the Wubu River in Dongquan Town, and the Qiaokouba Hot Springs by the Jiantan River in Yudong Town. The South Hot Springs and the East Hot Springs are among the top four premier hot springs in Chongqing.
The South Hot Springs, which lie on the southeastern outskirts of Ba'nan, are well-known for their pure water (39℃-42℃) and graceful natural scenery, while the East Hot Springs are the most famous in Chongqing, renowned as a paradise on Earth. The East Hot Springs have a total of 48 spring openings, scattered in magically beautiful surroundings which feature historical temples and pavilions. It's right here that you can enjoy a special and rare spa and sauna experience in a hot spring karst cave with a year-round water temperature of about 43℃. You can also try the mixed naked spa, a folk tradition handed down for more than 600 years.
