Jay Chou, a famous Taiwan pop musician, topped the 2012 China Celebrity List, boasting an income of 161 million yuan (US$25.6 million).
The list was released by the Chinese edition of Forbes magazine on May 3. It is the ninth time that Forbes has released such a list to quantify the power of Chinese celebrities, based on both their income and exposure.
The 100 Chinese celebrities on the list have put on splendid performances and made some outstanding achievements in the various fields of entertainment, sports, culture and media. They raked in a combined income of 4.32 billion yuan (US$684.5 million) on this year's list.
