Cao Jun, born in Shanghai, was chosen to star in the 20-episode TV series "The Royal Monk" in 1996 when he was eight and with that jumpstarted his acting career. In 1997, he was named the Best New Performer at the 2nd Asian TV Festival for his brilliant portrayal of the little monk Kaixin in his very first film. He was also in "The Royal Monk II" (1997), "He Made It" (1999), "The Magistrate Who's Nine" (2001), and the CCTV hit series "Lotus Lantern" (2004). Cao was admitted into Fudan University to pursue further studies at the College of Visual Arts in 2006, and played Liu Chenxiang in TV hit series "Prequel of Lotus Lantern" in 2007. Cao has so far starred in over 20 TV series and films.
