With about 6.99 million college students waiting to start their career, 2013 is believed to be the most difficult year for Chinese graduates. However, not all young people have to face a tough future if their majors are more competitive.
Internet developer, mortgage broker, and personal financial consultant are the three highest-paying jobs this year, according to the 2013 Chinese College Graduates Employment Report released by MyCOS, a third-party research institute that specializes in education assessment.
The average pay for an Internet developer per month, after the completion of a 6-month probation, is approximately 4,803 yuan; a mortgage broker can make 4,632 yuan on average, and a personal financial consultant can make about 4,547 yuan.
This year's report shows that the average monthly income has increased by 282 yuan or 10.2 percent compared to the previous year, amounting to an average of 3,048 yuan (US$497) for college students.
The report also published the corresponding college majors for high-paying jobs in order to provide some references for college graduates looking for jobs. It can also give high-school students a better idea of what they are getting themselves into before applying to university.
