When the unveiling of the Nobel Literature Prize was near, literary world in many countries became abuzz in guessing who would win the prize. In China, a group of Sinologists "nominated" the most promising Chinese candidates for the prize and most said novelist Liu Zhenyun was the strongest candidate to win the award. They made the nomination during a symposium on Chinese literature and translation in August in Beijing. That made Liu hit the headlines in many newspapers and news portals.
