Peking University, one of the most prestigious universities in China, crowned the list of the Top 20 Chinese universities for eight consecutive years, proving its strong overall capacity for teaching and research, according to the latest Top 100 Chinese universities in 2015 released by the Chinese Universities Alumni Association (CUAA) on December 29.
Seven C9 League members are listed among the top 10, demonstrating the league's lasting clout in China's education system.
The list was based on three indices that reflect the quality of a university: scientific research, talent training and social influence.
This is the first time that the list has included six military academies. Among them, National University of Defense Technology has the best scores and ranked number 10.
The ranking has been released for 13 consecutive years. This year, it has introduced international university assessment from Times Higher Education, QS and US News, with the aim of making Chinese universities more competitive worldwide.
