Mount Qomolangma, whose name means "Goddess" in the Tibetan language, is the world's highest peak, at 8,848 meters high. It is located in the western part of Shigatse Prefecture. Its year-round snowy peak gives it a holy look. Known as the Earth's third pole, the Mount Qomolangma region has four mountains higher than 8,000 meters and 38 mountains higher than 7,000 meters.

There are two giant glaciers north of Mount Qomolangma. At 15 kilometers long, the two giant glaciers extend into the valley like two silver dragons. In summer, the change in the clouds around Mount Qomolangma is most striking. Overlooking the top of the mountains, mountain peaks loom like islands in a sea of clouds.
